Baisi Award

The Neal Baisi Awards were founded by Beckley Newspapers and are named for former West Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach and athletic director Neal Baisi, who held a 263-82 record in 12 seasons as coach. An Elkins native, Baisi focused most of his recruiting on West Virginia high school players. The recipient is selected by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association and the award is given to top players on men’s and women’s basketball and football rosters in the now-defunct West Virginia Conference.
